92 fzr400rr3tj 4dx rear shock advice

Post by Bsamann55 » Tue Jul 30, 2019 10:36 am

Hi all, just about getting to grips with this bike after 4 weeks, it would appear that the rear shock on this is off a 2003 zx9 !!! Does anyone know anything about people using these, it appears they are the same length as original, but spring size is very harsh and seems about same as an r6 for rating, just havnt seen anyone mention one of these on anything, any help would be appreciated

That's a new one to me, I haven't heard of that before.
A spring for most shocks is around £50ish (guessing) but you need to know which rating. Soooooo find a suspension company near you take the bike so they can measure it with you sitting on it then leg them sort it out.

My Ohlins shock was originally from a similar model. I had Ohlins shorten it, fit a more appropriate spring and revalve to suit. See my R4 project thread.
