FZR 400RRSP Carbs.

Post by 1966baz » Wed Dec 21, 2016 9:30 am

Hello me again, Got my RRSP running yesterday  ( first time in approx. 5 years as it had sat in the previous owners damp shed.) I've cleaned the carbs , all jets etc. and it finally ran on choke but will cut out if you use any revs or take it off choke. Must be a blockage somewhere . It has 32mm mukunis fitted. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

Renewed the fuel filter ?
There's a gauze filter on top of the fuel tap and another in the brown fuel connector where the fuel hose joins the carbs.
Try running it on a remote tank if you have one other wise it's a dirty jet

Thanks again four your advice your Evil Chicken, I'll have another look tomorrow. I had it running again today and got it revving now but not cleanly. I do have a set of really clean 3EN carbs which are very similar. Possibly can try them? Cheers mate.

Sounds like pilot jets or circuit.

It does sound like a dirty jet.
I've got a similar thing on my Bimota - it's popping on the over run and flames a bit too. It's ok when I add a tiny bit of choke so its probably a dirty jet, strip and clean strip and clean .... I hate this ethanol

I'm having trouble with mine, might re-test and start a new thread with detailed symptoms.

Sorry meant tank.Just a thought, No exup valve or exup motor fitted as running stainless 4 into 1 with standard end can
Should still rev out though even if it lacks some mid range.
