FZR400 RR at dynojet
HI all,
I was at the dynoyet today with the first 3tJ.
Standard motor without modifications.
K&N single airfilter
Carburetor changes according to Yamaha Race Kit.
Race exhaust similar to the RaceKit without EXUP, similar to BDK Race Engineering.
Result: 65 PS @ 13.200
37Nm @ 10.800
Rear wheel power !!!
Exceeds my expectations
Those are 70+ PS at the engine.
any comments and recommendations are welcome.

I was at the dynoyet today with the first 3tJ.

sorry, have tried to login at tinypic or photobucket, was not working.
so cannot show the dynojet printouts
yes, you are right, it was planed to achieve a very stable and healthy version.
It is intended as the basis for the next engines to show which changes bring which success.
next step will be my SP engine and to the above mentioned changes, BDK airbox and ignition adjustment (BDK) will be added

That will be interesting. I'd expect the SP (standard) to be similar to the RR but pick up and make it's revs a bit quicker.

All top end, you can see why ditching the exup isn't good for a road bike

yes it a race bike only.
the previous run was with 125 main jet, showing quiet the same (no data sheet available).
we increased to 130 main jet, but almost no changes, we expected a richer mixture, on top end.
so I set the needle one ring up to increase the mixture, but no time left for an additional dyno run.
I am using standard RR carbs.
so I have tried to increase the diameter of the main air jet, like on my SP carbs ( -->120) with a taper reamer.
and now I assume I have opened them too much and results in a too lean mixture.
any experiences, further tips?

the red line is the power (wheelpower)
the blackline is the air fuel ratio
Next week I will have the first test of my SP.
So I will update this thread as soon I have results.

needle position 3 (from top)
no airbox

no generator
It was just for synchronization and basic setting for HC and CO values.
Thought, it will be easier to do this settings, before I build in the airbox.
So it is just to know where we are starting.
But was a bit surprised about the bunked out line (power) between 12k to 15k, especially, the lambda value is not so bad in the range of 14k to 15k. I know such lines if the engine is running much to rich.
