Hi all,
Can anyone tell me which oil to use please?
1988 fzr400 1wg.
Ready for oil and filter change.
Local bike mechanic said Castrol gtx 10 40 part synthetic is perfect, but NEVER use fully synthetic, as clutch will probably slip.
Just today, a good friend (an ex garage owner in the 70's and 80's), said he always used mineral oil in older engines and didn't recommend part or full synthetic esp with wet clutches.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks,
Russ

10/40 semi synthetic - the brand doesn't matter as much as changing it regularly.

Re: which oil to use
I've used Castrol full synth BIKE oil in my fzr, vfr and me klr and never had any problems with clutch slip, just don't use car oil that does make the clutch slip, I tried it for an experiment on me klr, cos it was the only oil I had handy.
