This is what we do! Buy a shit looking runner for around £500 and put it out of its (and everyone else's!) miseryEvilchicken0 wrote:You're probably better off buying a running bike with dodgy cosmetics, a shitfighter that somebody has loving messed up maybe. As long as it runs you should be ok.

with every body struggling with the air box on 600 mod, couldn't you just use a thunderace tank or yzf 750, just a thought

It doesn't fit. The frame rails are different to the point that it's just not practical to fit.

The older 1WG 400 tanks are a bit longer and you can get the later 600 tank (same as the YZF750) to fit ok, but the 3TJ is too different.rrsp wrote:thats that then, seen a 1wg with a yzf750 tank on once looked ok,

Re: How to fit the 600 into the 3tj
forgive me if this has been asked before, but does the 400 3tj loom plug in as it should to the 600 4jh engine? i'm doing the hybrid and am tackling the wiring first.
is there any modifying to be done, apart from the cdi mod on page one of this thread? when the red/white wire gets bridged, is it the red/white from each connecter twisted together, so to speak, and then attatched to a single red/white in the loom?
i am looking at this properly tomorrow as i have tried the 4jh loom on the bike (i bought alex h's project) and have no spark at the plug.
i am just trying to wrap my head around it a bit before diving in ....
thanks
john

I think there's one other thing it's covered near the beginning of the thread ... page 2 maybe

Re: How to fit the 600 into the 3tj
I covered the first 5 pages but am going a little snow blind now.
Someone asked about the wiring in page 3 but no answer seems to have answered.
This is a fantastic thread but a lot to read when looking for a specific answer.

Re: How to fit the 600 into the 3tj
Page one shows you how to splice the 400 loom into the 600 cdi.
But the better option is to use the 600 loom with the 600 cdi, just plug and play.

Re: How to fit the 600 into the 3tj
I see that one, i wanted to make sure i have it right about the red/white wire bridging over and about the connectors of the loom to the engine components.
The bike has a 4jh loom on but has no spark, and i can't find a wiring diagram for it anywhere.
I have a 3tj wiring loom here so wanted to try that before buying a loom, I'm trying to keep the cost down on my build......that and I'm tight :)
