1WG DERESTRICTION
i think i may have found a way of derestricting the 1wg 3en1, i have spent a few days working out how it all works, there are 3 wires black (earth) brown (12v positive feed) orange (return) when the ignition is switched on u get exactly the same voltage reading on both the brown and orange wires and this stays the same while you turn the speedo needle until it gets to a certain point and there is a metal disc that goes between the 2 sensors on the speedo and drops the voltage on the orange wire to approx 1.5 - 1.7volts and illuminates the speed light in the rev counter, now i know it has to get a signal when the iginition is turned on so you cant just unplug the connector how ever if you bridge the brown and orange wires together it is getting the same reading no matter what rev/road speed etc you are doing as it is until the metal disc inturrupts this. i have unplugged and bridged ours but until i can send my crash test dummy out on in cannot confirm if this method will work.

Re: 1WG DERESTRICTION
it did indeed seem to work, no light on at any point. No speedo connected at all revved up no problem as far as i dared in the pouring rain anyway! A dry day on track will confirm all works though!
It would it appear it may also be possible to remove the metal strip that moves between the sensor as the speed increases. (Take the speedo apart and move the needle, you'll see it rotate into position) removing this should mean no change in signal to the sensor thus no restriction! Just might be a bit fiddly to remove! does involve dismantling clocks though!

Re: 1WG DERESTRICTION
So is it possible to use a FZR600 speedo or not?

Re: 1WG DERESTRICTION
No. I think you'd need a derestriction box to use one of thoseWraith wrote:So is it possible to use a FZR600 speedo or not?

But stracing stated that he had Unpluged the Conector and Bridged the wiresEvilchicken0 wrote:No. I think you'd need a derestriction box to use one of thoseWraith wrote:So is it possible to use a FZR600 speedo or not?
So the wiring is no longer connected to the Speedo at all
This what I needed to make sure of
