Managed to fit 2009 R6 front end into my 3tj without too many problems.

good stuff,how did you do it? be interesting if it was alonng the same lines as me fitting the zxr front end.

Bottom bearing, just buy a 31/55/18 bearing size and the top bearing I used a 30/48/15. The problem with the top bearing is the frame has a 47mm bearing seat not a 48mm so I cut the frame out to 48mm so would now need shimming back down for original forks. But cant see that ever happening!

i went to my local yamaha dealer with tape measure and some verniers to measure upsome 2c0/13s forks as i wanted to do the same with my hybrid but must have measured wrong cos i thought theyed be too long, but was obviously mistaken cos youve done it and they look fantastic on yours.bloody top job sir-im now going off to sulk and repeatedly kick myself for not doing the measuring properly.post up lots of pics before ,during and after and then post some more!!

they are too long in relation to the standard forks,but you just have them through the yokes a lot more,just need to be carefull they dont foul on the screen brace.

good stuff,i went down the modded headstock shaft route with the zxr400 forks.

The headstock on an R6 is massive! but the truth is the bearing isnt, the lock stops even line up spot on with the right amount of lock, lucky! The fork legs are around 20mm longer than 3tj but remember that the top yoke on a 3tj is stepped down somewhat. I measured the ride height before I started and after and its about 5mm higher on the front but that is in the standard r6 position & at that my tj forks were throgh the yokes 10mm.

You do have to alter the screen brace to make it a bit higher, prob 10mm. I made a new ally 1 to suit but you could more than likley alter the std 1 with the odd tweek!
