Rear Sets for 90 yamaha 400 1wg
Hey guys wondering if you can help me, i have a 1990 fzr 400 1wg. I want to put new rearsets on it, very few can be found here in the states, only woodcraft makes some, and i dont like them. I cant get a answer from this guy on ebay in the UK who is selling rearsets, it list 3tj, RR, but not 1wg.
My mounting holes are about 47mm apart, does anybody know the distance of the mounting holes on a 3tj or RR. I really like these rearsets but want to make sure they will work.

If you have a fzr400 1wg genesis (most common fzr400 in the states) then a set of fzr400 2tk pegs and controls will bolt straight up.

They have a more racier position so I put a set on my bike. They were too racy and cramped however for my 5'3" body lol! So I put the originals back on.

If your from the states chances are you have a Genesis model ... they're 1986/87 bikes in Japan. The 3TJ is a small spacing for the rear set's bolts but I can't say how far they are apart. To my knowlege only SES (as in the your ebay link) do the 3TJ type over here.
Most FZR's touch down the exhaust can first so moving or chamfering that would be the first thing to do.
Woodcraft stuff is usually quite good and they powdercoat in black too ... maybe they can do the body in black so you won't notice them so much. Can we have a link to the Woodcraft rearsets ???

woodcraft rear sets
http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/cgi-bin/co ... ey=05-0410
their £20 dollars cheaper here (EDIT, can't get the url to work for that page copy & paste this "Yamaha FZR 400/600 - Woodcraft Complete Rearsets (without pedals)" into the site search engine bellow)
https://www.1cruiser.com/sa/cart/detail.asp?pg=
but that's still a lot of money considering your going to have to get your old gear shifter and brake peddle cleaned up and polished/powder coated to suit

For that kind of money you can probably get something made, either a pair of step plates repositioning the original rearsets or get a new rearset.
I wouldn't rush into it unless it's for a racebike though

It's not the best idea in the world, lowering the rearsets will (obviously) reduce your ground clearance in a bend. Don't use fixed or racing footpegs, use the standard folding ones, they look better if you take the rubbers off.
You might be able to turn the standard rearsets upside down, but again it's not recomended.

yeah i wont lower them, but i want to go back some. The guy finally emailed me from ebay UK, and said the mounting holes are 40mm apart, my 1wg genisis is 40mm apart to, so they will fit, but i may have to rearrange my rear master cylinder a bit. http://srx.main.ebayrtm.com/clk?RtmClk& ... 86&pi=5197

Those rearsets have a place to mount the rear master cylinder so it's just a case of bolting it up and off you go. I'd still look for fold up pegs if your going to reposition them lower

Re: Rear Sets for 90 yamaha 400 1wg
Im not going to lower them, just move them back which those rearsets should do. Im not sure the master cylinder will bolt right up, the guy who is selling them said i may have to mod them a little to make the master cylinder work, dont really know.
