My Genesis won't start now.
My Genesis 1WG will now not start. after i checked the valves and put the engine back together i fired her up and she started first touch of the button. now the wheel is back in and the c+s fitted i went to take her for a ride but nothing. She's sparking. I'm assuming fuel pump here because she did not make the usual whirring noise it used to from the fuel pump area. Checked all connections, fuel flow from tank etc and fuel filter. Would you think my prediction is correct.

Re: My Genesis won't start now.
Maybe the fuel pump doesnt make a noise because its primed already, try draining a bit fuel from the carbs & see it the pump primes then. If it doesnt check fuses & connections.
Someone may have a better suggestion.

Ive checked the fuses and connections that was the first thing. I was thinking fuel pump because it made the same noise everytime i turned the ignition now it doesn't.

Yes check the kill switch
Check there's petrol in it and turn it to reserve for good measure
If that doesn't do it take the airbox off, lift the throttle slides and spray a goodly squirt of carb cleaner in each carb ... then try starting it. If it runs, then stops and won't start agian it's definately fuel ... make sure the filters are clean and then suspect the fuel pump

Re: My Genesis won't start now.
Sorted. checked everything again then found all carb cleaner gone as used it on son's bike. so tapped fuel pump with a hammer and it was just a tap. switched on the ignition and she started. So thinking sticky fuel pump. just keep my eye on it and see what happens. Again thanks for all the help.

So then, kill switch it was ...
Glad you got it sorted anyway, I,d be inclined to recheck fuel pump connections, maybe take them all apart & clean them properly as they,re 20 years old!
