Considering B1H kwak front end - any words of wisdom?

Post by nick » Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:47 am

After a recent track outing it is clear that the hybrids front end is sadly lacking. The R6 rear shock is great and after some fetling feels great.

Forks options for the 3TJ are somewhat limited but i'm thinking of using the USD front end from a B1H Kwak. Having spotted a thread in the gixxer area, it would seem that it is possible.

Anyone have any words is wisdom?

I would imagine you can fit just about any forks if you have the engineering know how. we managed to fit kwak zx9r forks to a 3tj for a streefighter but needed to buy a bottom bearing and mod the steerer tube by cutting it and some machining work then welding the top half of a 3tj 1 onto it but works a treat,

This should be quite easy, as the GSXR400 (GK76a) or RGV250 (VJ22) yokes bolt straight on to the 3TJ. The only thing needed is to move the lock stops.

Then the tried and tested route of putting the ZX6 forks is open to us. I am thinking of doing the same thing, as I currently have GK76a forks fitted, but the chrome is not good and the seal has just popped!

Just need to find the forks and brakes at a reasonable price...
