Re: FZR 400 GENESIS CDI FAULTY ???
Last autumn Boris; It is only a cheapy but adequate for whats required; like this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-Infra ... 20e5115c6e
Someone may get the linked one for pennies.
EDITED FOR ADDITIONS:
Loads on here;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw= ... n&_sacat=0
They are that cheap; I might buy another and be like "Two gun Tex."

You will have clocked the 2x sets of carbs from the same seller up at a good start price;
I cannot recall if the Genesis has that carb type though .( Don't they have the metal tops ?)
Do not have experience of Exup carbs on a none exup engine; anyone contribute here ?
Theoretically; with jet swaps, there should be no excessive problems.
The dia. are the same.
Edit; coz I missed the l off metal ( which caused confusion)

Edited for disgraceful spelling; was in a hurry !
Shocking behaviour......... simply not acceptable.
Hides in brush cupboard with head held low in shame.

Re: FZR 400 GENESIS CDI FAULTY ???
Bill do those guns have a hot enough range for use on headers?
I've been after an excuse to buy one for ages and could have used one at a trackday on Monday.
Thanks

Re: FZR 400 GENESIS CDI FAULTY ???
Yes they do; I use mine on the bend at the very top which is the hottest part of the pipe.
It gives the most consistent reading and an easy to re-read target.
Just gone out and done a little test; (coz I was interested in the question too )
Gun is rated to 380 c.
At Idle and warmed up ; 1100rpm = headers 270 c and remained stable at this temp.
Run at constant 6000rpm for 3 minutes = headers rose from 270 c to 450 c on the gun.
At 450-454 c the gun screen flicks back to 450 c (like a page refresh )
It is unknown how hot the headers got above this.
The guns will be rated accurate to 380 c but must go higher .
I can not recall seeing over 295c when I have been on with it previously doing mixture screws.
Nice when you learn yourself something .
