Cool - let us know when you've done the MOT and had a propper ride on it.

Cheers, she's in tomorrow at 11. Front brakes rub a touch, but I can spin the wheel round twice so it should be ok I hope.

Success! 3 advisories though, on rear tyre valve stem, rear brake disk not quite straight (!) and front fork damping. But she's back on the road at least.

I'm trying to think if the disk advisory could be because of the work back there, but I don't think so. Any thoughts?

Ask them if the disc ran out, if so it's the disk that's wraped. Take the disc off and make sure the mating surfaces are clean

Cheers, I'll have a look at the surfaces.

What they said was "inconsistent force, suggesting warped disk". i.e. rhythm. Was does "disk ran out" mean? It seems straight visually when I spin the back wheel up on the paddock stand.

Wheel alignment could be out making disc in pads, being pressed to disc at an angle.

Run out is is the distance a face moves left to right when it rotates, it "runs out of true". It wouldn't be the wheel out of true because the disc and caliper are attached to the wheel and spindle.

It's an advisory though which means it's only a small amount

Of the 3 I'd look at the tyre valve first, then sort the forks and finally fit a different rear disc

Cheers Evil! If it's not running true, it's by a very small amount, nothing visible on spin. To be honest, I can't feel any variance in the braking force at all. Maybe it's just because it hasn't been used for so long... I'll let it ride I think, keep an eye on it.

The valve is the tiniest of defects so I'll just keep an eye on that for now and sort it next time the wheel is off, and the forks, well... garage says it's only a small issue, so I'll get rid of the RF fit and sold and get the Fazer painted and loved a bit first I think.

My exhaust repair on a pen sized hole has just let go though, so I'll need to sort that or continue to sound like I'm riding a whoopy cushion down the road ;) I just used exhaust paste... a jubilee clip would work if it won't melt. Anyone know if it will melt?
