Right, wheel from Kayla on its way, tyre ordered from the shop. Need a disk and brake stuff now.
I've also got a Fazer and measured the disk, which amazingly is cracked. So I need to buy 2 Fazer sized disks! Good job it never gets pulled on the Fazer as it's so dangerous to do so.

To broaden the search, the disc is the same as loads of other Yams (suprise!
) - TRX850, FZR600R, YZF750, Thunderace/cat and you can use the caliper hangers off those bikes too with a bush to reduce the diameter to 17mm, and I think the calipers are interchangeable too, at least the TRX, YZF750 and Thunderace ones are.

Do you know where I would get a bush to do that from Kayla?
For the record I make the disk to be:
Diameter: 244mm
Diameter across centre nut hole to centre nut hole: 132
Nuts: 6
Which I've got from the Fazer I've had for 4 years, for just this occasion.

Are you breaking your Fazer? Just use the caliper hanger from that. I made a bush up to fit a TRX hanger when I was going to use the XJR wheel in my TZR250 (it's a long storyKenny_Dave wrote:Do you know where I would get a bush to do that from Kayla?

I'm not breaking the Fazer! It has a FZS1000 blue spot rear calliper with a slightly modified hanger on it too:)Kayla850 wrote:Are you breaking your Fazer? Just use the caliper hanger from that. FZR400 for fun FZS600 for commute is the plan. You would be my personal hero if you could find that bush Kayla!!! How do you make it? Do you have a... lathe and a great big centre drill?

Right, plug over.
The bush is kicking around somewhere amongst the Yamaha detritus

The wheel has arrived, thanks Kayla!
I should also have planned this out a bit better, I could bought most of the bits and bobs from you as well as the wheel I think. As it is, I've got a Thunder thunder cat hanger, and a disk in the post. I've stuck it together, with the standard calliper and my unusable fractured Faser disk, and it's all the right size.
So I just need to get hold of a bush. If you find the one you have, let me know how much you want for it Kayla! Otherwise I can pootle down to Castleford and get one made there.
This is the cracked disk by the way:

Not something I've ever heard of before, can't imagine what caused it.
I'm impressed!Kayla850 wrote:http://www.projection-components.co.uk/

Fazer mk1, TZR125 early model FRONT disk.
Not: yz125,yz250,yzf,wr,tw. These have the same diameter, and the holes in the same place, but are too thin and the holes are not big enough for the M8 bolts.

Re: 150/60 R18 in a 3EN2
Wow, I've finally finally finally got this finished today.
The bush took a week, and they've done a preposterously good job. It's stuck in with heat, and made of some low friction brassy stuff, exactly the same diameter as the original spacers.
I think the heat may have bent the arm though, as the disk didn't run right inside the callipers. I've had to include a 2mm M20 washer between the spacer and the hanger, which took some finding, and I've filed down the outside of the hanger so the washer and the hanger still have a width of 27mm together.
Been round the block... er... carpark... on her a few times, and I think it will MOT now, so looks like she'll finally be back on the road soon :)
