what colour scheme you going to go for with the black frame

standard 1990 sp colours.i did consider a rep/fag scheme but i really like the standard scheme as it is,it seems to suit the contours of the bike perfectly and should really suit the black frame i hope.

   got the tank, seat unit, top fairing and right side fairing panel back today and they look  i immediately took lots of pictures but they dont do the paint justice.the left panel, mudguard and mirrors will be here on saturday afternoon so i can do a dry fit and ill take some more pics then.ive fitted an hrc rear resevoir kit that looks fab and taken all the uneccassary lugs off the subframe so you can see through the bike(no rear brake resevoir pot) and fitted an r1 rear master cylinder as mine was minging and its a straight bolt on,though the threaded bar that fits onto the rear brake pedal is much shorter than the 3tj one but is the perfect length to go with the rear sets ive fitted.
hrc res kit, fasteners in rearsets only temp at the moment

seat unit back where it belongs

found some nice dzus fasteners to hold seat pad on!

tank now needs a decent filler cap as the new paint makes it look scabby!!

right hand panel looking lovely(i am really crap with a camera)

front cowl im gonna have to buy a new screen!!

still a fair bit to do though.ive managed to take the arrow can apart and turn the sleeve round to hide the damage and polished out all the scratches.the end cap is being coated black and im waiting for the stainless banding and rivetts to arrive from the arrow importers b&c express so i can rebuild it.i need a rear brake light pressure switch,a carbon exhaust hanger as the gsxr1000 one that the arrow can came from is beyond repair.some rear brake pads, and the rear caliper is on its way to be rebuilt by nick chambers who does alot of stuff for the lc club.the 3tj uses the same rear caliper pistons as the powervalves and nick will strip, powder coat and fit stainless pistons and supply all fittings for £70 which is a bargain if you ask me!ill post some pics with the bodywork fitted this weekend and take the pics outside as the shed always makes stuff look a bit dull-laters!!

managed to pop the right hand panel on to see what its gonna look like and did a few sundry jobs like copperslipping all the new stainless bolt threads and cutting them down to the right lenghth, boring but has to be done.anyway very pleased with the new paintwork against the black frame

the rest of the bodywork arrives tommorrow so the mudguard and other panel can go on for a dry fit and to make sure ive got all the fasteners i need etc. then a nut by nut torqueing up session followed by an oil and filter change.will post pics as they happen!!

Your doing a nice job there.
I took a trip to see my folks on my 400 3TJ last night and then back this morning. I wore my tea bag leathers and although it was cold going down I managed it in a t-shirt and undersuit. Nice coming back today :)

The chain's fucked though .... so it must be nearly time to change the engine ;)

thanks boris, but dont even mention riding as as i aint turned a wheel in 3 months and im going a little stir crazy without my two wheeled fix.its great to get rid of the winter layers and ride in just ya leathers it usually signifies the onset of spring or summer(fingers crossed).do i detect a hybrid on the horizon? if so youll need a 108 links if you go for a 520 pitch!

108 links - good to know and yes I was going to fit a 520 even though it will be ridden as a 400 for a while.

Firts though .... I'm off to Japan on Wednesday :)
