When you say "brake stuff", do you mean the just the mount and calliper or is there anything else?

I'm also looking at FZR250 and TZR125 wheels... any experience with these?
You need the disc, caliper hanger and caliper for the XJR400 wheel, but it does fit straight it once you've got the bits together.

FZR250 wheels- the early ones are 2.5 x 17" so are too skinny, the later ones are 3.5 x 17" and are the same as the TZR125R rears, which have all been hoovered up by the Yamaha Past Master racers because they fit into a TZR250 2MA.

SZR660 wheels are 4 x 17" and use the same sprocket carrier and disc as the 1WGs, but take a 15mm spindle so you'll need different bearings.

Failing all of that, the 3TJ/4DX rear wheels have been used, but I haven't done it myself. I have, however, put a TRX850 rear end in a 3EN1 (with the TRX front end as well) which was very simple to do, almost as simple as the 3TJ rear end but cheaper

Now, if you're stuck, I do have a 4DX that I'm about to carve up and the rear wheel is surplus to requirement if you're interested, and I have an XJR400 rear wheel too.

Just messing about with my genesis and got these rough measurements:

With a 140/60/18 tyre on I have just about 4cm clearance on that bar
The bar is about 36cm from the centre of the wheel spindle

hth...

kayla could you tell me the diameter of the 3tj wheel spindle and the rim width? ta

I think - though what do I know? - that you'd be ok with my tire in that swing arm then. It's 666mm diameter according to this:

Giving you 1 inch clearance which should be ok???

So I have a million different options. Swingarm, TZr125R, FZR250, XJR400, a 660 and an 850... I've made an offer for a rear XJR400rear rim elsewhere - how much are you asking for yours Kayla if it doesn't work out?

The 3TJ spindle is 20mm and it's a 4.5 x 17" wheel.

Yours is a fatty! lol mine is 62.5cm diameter

just weighing up my options ...literally.

(rear wheel weights with tyres) FZR400 13.79kg, SZR660 14.22kg, TZR125R 13.55kg

A bit gutted the SZR one is soo heavy...anyone got a FZR250 one lol???

Mind you the SZR has a 150 on it and a steel sprocket against the alu sprocket and a 140 on the FZR400

Hold the fort! lol

the whole sprocket malarky was bugging me so I whipped them off...

so a more accurate measurement SZR rear 13.49kg, FZR400 rear 13.49kg

so anyone got a long 15mm spindle??

Why not tap the bearing code for the SZR into google and find the outside dia, then you might get a pair of 20mm bearings for the FZR spindle.
