Thanks dude, it's strange that the book is wrong. I've looked around and a lot of sites list the wrong battery for this bike (not surprising as most businesses order from the same place).

I'll get the carbs cleaned up and back on today and do the electrics in the week, looks like someone has fitted an alarm in the past so I'll have to get rid of all their crappy wiring

I think the other battery is for a 1WG

I've not really had much time in the garage of late but I've managed to service the forks and spray some bits and bobs. It's starting to look like a bike again now

I'm ordering a load of stuff this week like exhaust seals, new foot pegs, battery (again!) etc, that should mean it will be more or less in one peice next weekend.

I do need to decide what to do with the fairing. I'm thinking just a single base colour so whoever buys it can make it their own.

If anyone has any ideas or improvements that can be done during the build let me know as it seems pretty much standard at the moment.

It's taken a lot of work to get it to this stage

Now the fun begins: wheel, exhaust and fairing will make a huge difference.

I haven't looked on the V5, good call! They are all black and gold at the moment, it looks quite good so I might stick with something similar.

The black and gold is a nice scheme, it's understated, faster and better handling than the red / white ;)
It should match your calipers too .... did you paint them ???

Yeh I painted them, the bike has been in a shed for years so everything is getting polished / sprayed before it gets put back on, that's why it's taking so long!
