float hight for 1985 fz400

Hi got a.1985 fz400r just need the standard float hight for them, they're peeing fuel out :-(

You measure them with a "U tube", I think it's a Yamaha part, you see where the fuel is on it and hold it against the carb body.

Does the bike run badly ? it could be a gasket leaking rather than the float height.

Going from previous posts; BDST32 carbs.

The nearest settings I have are for the 1WG Genesis utilising same units.
Hopefully the engine and carb settings are similar and also the engine/carb angle.
The bike needs to be upright not on the sidestand.

This is the fuel level NOT the float height.
Others may have that info.

The tube can be made from clear hose with suitable heights marked.

EDIT: 13mm seems to be the base setting for the actual float height.
A red box doth not a Snap On make.

What would symtoms of incorrect float hight? Would bogging down at slight throttle be a symptom

It sounds like over fueling or pinholed diaphrams. There are various ways the carbs can over fuel not just high fuel level.

I've said this before - take it to a dyno and get it set up properly.
