Look to be quite widely used http://www.2wheelpros.com/oem-parts/yam ... -part.html
Isn't it a pity that google can't search for UK stockists

By that part number it would be an M10 x 65 bolt. Grade 8.8 high tensile zinc plated should cost about $1

Re: 3tj suspension bolts
Links above appear dead but here is a cheap one;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-Part-N ... 3037wt_931
Blair; It is a special bolt.
Replacing it with a stock fastener usually results in slop in the dogbones or they nip.
The tolerances on the Yam bolt are very fine for this application.
I think the Yam bolt is a machined finish.
EDIT: here is the other one;
http://www.yamahascooterspares.co.uk/sp ... 5800&uid=0
Most annoying is they are less than $2 from Partsnet in US.!

Re: 3tj suspension bolts
Ok, thanks for the heads up.
See, even old codgers can still learn something new everyday. Now I am curious; I will have to measure that when I pull mine out.
cheers

Re: 3tj suspension bolts
You will notice the thread and nut is one size smaller than would normally be used
on a bolt of that dia.
The shank fits exactly the width of the arms + rocker sleeve which prevents the nut being overtightened.
Ive faffed with stainless replacements and washers but the linkage does not operate a smooth as using stock parts.

Re: 3tj suspension bolts
I went for the part because that's what OP asked and I couldn't remember if it was a shouldered bolt or not

Re: 3tj suspension bolts
It certainly is 'the bolt for the job'!
When I put Kayla's dog bones on there was play in the linkage. Because the new dog bones were a gnats cock thinner it wouldn't 'pull up' so to speak. The bolt was F___in tight but it still span. Had to put a v thin washer under the nut. That pulled the bones tight against the collar that goes right through - and the play disappeared.
