fzr 400 3tj fork seals not fitting.
my dad just tried fitting my fork seals but they are 1mm to big and the retainer clip wont clip in basically. i brought fork seals for a 1992-1995 fzr 400 and mines a 1994 havent a clue why they wont fit properly. they are much bigger that the originals.

Have you compared the old with the new? Are the new seals seated correctly? Don't want to doubt your dads ability but they are the first things i would look at.

yeh we compared old with new and the new one was 1mm thicker. we pushed them both in as far as they would go and neither of the retainer clips would stay in place. the size thing for it is 43 55 10.5 but its should be like 9.5 which is what the old seals are.

Just checked my spares and they are 10.5 would send you some if they were smaller. all i can say is you've been sold the wrong part. Give Fowlers of Bristol a ring, I was told that by other members on here and they proved very helpful.
Good luck.
Good luck.

the 400rr ones are 10.5mm it'sthe sp forks that are 9.5. some people put 9.5 in the rr by mistake or because they drop in easier. the 10.5 will go in but you need to knock them down. you can get expensive special tool for this but i have used an old clip on with the old seal on top of the new and basically slammed the whole thing down onto a block of wood to force them in. You can ued a flat bar to knock them down but risk cutingthe top if you're not careful! they are designed to be a tight fit but will go!

I've heard the same thing, two types are available I would get the 9.5mm ones if the others don't go in.
