r6 shock extension

in passing i mentioned the bike to my neighbour who turns out to be a cnc machinist, and said they do a few bits for bikes. I mentioned the spacer that pople have been using for r6 shocks and he said he could make tham pretty easily. Now I understand oolit has been making them but has not been able to due to commitments. so i'll mail him and see if he'd mind me seeing how much it would cost to have these made up as they would be single piece cnc machined. so really i just wanted to know if there would be enough interest to make them viable in terms of outlay for pattern and machine time as more wanted = cheaper cost for all! I may go ahead and see if he can give me an estimate of cost but of course as i said these were oolits babies so i'll see what he says first!

I am stripping my one frame down, so if you wish to borrow my spacer from the bottom of my spare shock... I will loan it on to you and return when done....

I'm looking to put a new R6 06/07 shock i've got on my 3tj. & i need some help on if i can put R1 07 calpers on the front forks, or do i need to change the forks.

R6 (Blue Spot) 100mm bolt spacing calipers won't bolt on to the 3TJ forks 85mm bolt spacing. You can fit them with an adapter plate though.

If you have a road bike though you probably don't need them. Make sure the original calipers are cleaned and the disks are in good condition. Fit some HH grade pads with braided steel hoses. Consider either replacing the master cylinder with a raidal item or replace the seals in the original.

To use R6 (blue spot) caliper I could change the forks for some (USD) forks..What would you advise ? Or would it be best to
put fresh oil and spring in !! if so how much oil & grade ? were do i get a good set of springs from Advise me please !!

Cornwall's roads are in bad nick and the last two years of is taken its tole "ON ME"... be nice yo see propper when going

I would like to put a 600 engine in after i get that little lot done !!

3TJ's are quite low at the head stock so something like a pair of R6 forks will stick up through the yokes quite a lot.

I've got a pair of adjustable SP forks though. They're a straight swap for your RR forks. You won't be any further on with fitting blue spot calipers (NK Racing will probably make an adapter plate) but you will have better suspension ;) :grin:
