Is my bike a 2tk ?
Hi i have my bike for sale currently and i always thought it was a genesis but upon checking the frame number i now have a suspicion it might be a 2tk with a genesis rear subframe the bike isn't running properly and has been stood for around 4 years i was just wondering if anyone would be able to help identify it and also if anyone would know what it would be worth ( depending which model it actually is ) thanks

Re: Is my bike a 2tk ?
Hello, if the frame number is in the range 1WG-035101 TO 1WG-043000 and there is oil cooler fitted then it is a 2TK. Has it got an EXUP? The 2TK was the first Yamaha for sale with EXUP

Re: Is my bike a 2tk ?
The 2TK's EXUP is a four-butterfly system at the header-collector section. It has individual valves to each downpipe, that is, if the 2TK is equipped with the 2TK model number exhaust valve assembly.
2TK's also had four-piston calipers similar to the 3EN (which is more likely from the FZR750 around the time)
The igniter unit is also different, the 2TK uses CDI, not TCI as sources say.
You may also try reading the engine identification labels, such as the cylinder block. The label is at the front of the cylinder, on a 1WG that would read:
1WG00
399cm3
