Re: Different seat unit and subframe????
None of them really work because of the way the frame comes up under the saddle. The lines through the fairing and tank won't match those from a different bike. When the top of the tank and top of the tail line up it leaves a big gap above the wheel. Finally, the 3tj unit is quite narrow where modern ones are wide.
That said the TZR 250 race bike seat looked Ok on Kayla track bike

And like a rabbit from a hat;
Remember that was on a 2TK which has an extended tank shroud compared to the 3TJ and the 2TK was single seat anyhow.

Re: Different seat unit and subframe????
Mine was a 2TK Boris, with a 3TJ fairing and a TZ seat unit. It looked ok-ish, I probably could've spent longer getting it to look righter but couldn't be arsed The only reason I stuck different bodywork on it was becauseEvilchicken0 wrote:None of them really work because of the way the frame comes up under the saddle. 1. I crashed and wrecked the standard bits (2TK seat unit & 3EN2 fairing)
2. The bits I ended up using were cheaper and more readily available than the stuff I broke.
How it was pre-crash-
and post-crash fix up-
It rode much nicer with the 3TJ fairing and lower clip-ons, then it shat itself at Cadwell and I sold it- kind of wish I hadn't now!
For me, form has to follow function especially if you're racing or tracking the bike. The last thing you need is a massive pain in the arse finding or making new custom bodywork cos you chucked the bike into the gravel. Cheap and easy, that's my motto!
