FZR400 restorers

Hi all,

We're looking for a few owners who have restored FZR400s in the (relatively) recent past to help out with a feature in the nest issue of Practical Sports Bikes. It would involve a chat on the phone (or email if you prefer) and you being able to supply a high res image of you and your bike to go with your words of wisdom.

We're after hints, tips, advice techniques to help other owners who may be thinking of having a go. If you'd be up for helping out, you can contact me through the forum, by email at gingersgaff@btinternet.com or on 07875 736021.

Thanks in advance for any help you can be.

All the best,

Gez Kane, Practical Sports Bikes

Thanks to the guys who have been in touch. I'm still looking for a couple of folk who have restored their FZRs fully though.

Any offers? Contact details are on my original post.

Many thanks,

Gez Kane, Practical Sports Bikes

Mot'd mine early this year. Mostly done but not quite finished. Not 100% original so not sure if it's what you would want.

Yeah I love it. Missus is getting me an Abba stand this week so I am going to be sorting out a few jobs on the rear end. New softer rear spring. BDK cdi unit. New rear light panel and change the rear brake hose bolts for stainless ones. The angle of the handle bars isn't quite right so the top yoke needs a bit of re-drilling.

That scheme with a black frame looks bang on, dare i say black wheels will finish it off :?

I pondered quite a while about the wheel colour and went with the correct colour for the original scheme. Shoulda gone with black though, I agree.....
