Hello,
I want to de-rust and paint my fuel tank. Rather than have the bike off the road while I do it I was going to try and pick up a cheap spare tank.
Are there any issues with the shape/fit between the various models or I need to get one specifically for the 3EN1?
Cheers

Re: Fuel Tank - Model Differences
You mean the inner fuel tank or the tank shroud ?
The inner ones are the same from the 3en bikes and probably the corresponding 600s.
The tank shroud is 3en1. The 3en2 has different tail plastics that clip onto the tank so they're slightly different, you can still fit it but it will untidy around the saddle. The 600 might fit like the 3en2, the saddle and tail is a bit different year to year so get a picture of the bike and compare them to yours.

Re: Fuel Tank - Model Differences
Thanks EC,
Yeah, I'm talking about the inner fuel tank proper not the outer cover. I'm sure I read somewhere that the 600 tank is a bit taller so the filler neck is too high. I'll try and confirm it.

Re: Fuel Tank - Model Differences
I think we tried a 600 tank in the 3EN2 4/6 we just did and the tank just didn't fit. You could probably get a 600 one to fit but not easily enough to make it a straight swap (if that makes sense!)
