Re: Can you see what it is yet
Next little job was the fuelling it wouldn't idle and riding trying to hold the idle on the throttle is a pain. I asked about and turned the air screws in which helped, but not much. So I raised the needles (it has a can on the exhaust) and now it runs a lot better ... it hangs slightly and when I ease the choke off the revs rise a bit so I'll turn the air jets out this time to make it a tad leaner.
I got a pair of frame covers a while back, the left one had a bit of damage so I used some wet'n'dry filled the fork brace hole and lacquered them.
Finally I gave it a wash and put the fairing back on ... the left side fairing isn't sitting right (unsurprising cos it went down on that side) so I guess the front subframe and fairing mounts need a bit of a "massage", but which realignment tool to use ?

Looking good mate. Took my 3tj out for MOT and a blast , so much fun cornering. You don't need 180 bhp on the roads, 60 is enough most of the time.

That is looking very tasty.
I've just been reading through the complete thread, It gives those of us with a bike in bits an example to follow.
Keep up the good work.

Re: Can you see what it is yet
Well got the fairings as close to Ok as I can, things seem to line up and look Ok.
Had some idling problems which I thought was the can. Eventually it wasn't starting well and the battery was getting a bit tired. I pulled the carbs off, cleaned the the jets, got some new plugs and recharged the battery. Got it started today and adjusted the idle ...
Runs and idles really well. Happy with it now.
Time to sell it.

The next one should be better. My starting point is a bit further on from this one.
