Screen brace and tank cover won't be but everything else is "mostly" the same.
They changed the front end, swingarm and bodywork.

Mine is in good condition just a small dent, Is yours perfect condition?
Are they 3EN1 and 3EN2 CDI/ECU (The little black box under the pillion seat) the same? I need a new one for mine. Can you buy brand new ones or are they mad expensive?

I think they're the same, or at least similar, but if you need a CDI then fit a 2TK one (the 1987 SP model) because they don't have the speed restriction on them.

Ah bugger, I just bought a 3EN2 one with TID14-85 3EN-10 on the box yesterday. The 3EN1 apparently has 3EN-00 on it so I was doubtful that it would work.
Oh, whats this speed restriction thing you are on about? I didnt realise there was any on my bike.
How much more MPH would you get out of it with the 2TK CDI or is it a quicker pick up to get to top speed or both? Would putting the 2TK CDI in cause any problems that you are aware of?

Re: 3EN2-3EN1 interchangeable parts.
Japanese bikes from 1988 on are restricted to 180kmh top speed, that's 112mph. The CDI gets a signal from the speedo at 0 and again at 180kmh which then cuts a cylinder or two if your persistant. Apart from that the CDI's are the same.
It's not something to worry about, you shouldn't get to that speed on the road, you can fit a gold KMH to MPH coverter at the wheels end of the speedo and not only will have an easier to read speedo but the restriction will be at 180mph
