New Tyres for 3TJ, any recommendations?
Was thinking of getting new tyres for the 3TJ as the front is basically bald :/ but i dont know what to get. Ive been running Bridgestone's BT-021 as i do quite a few motorway miles to and from university. But for a new set, im tempted to try the BT-023. Any thoughts?

Supercorsas
But I guess if you want some more miles try the new Bridgestone S20

dunlop D 209 sportsmax qualifiers,
never had an issue with em, stick like shit to a blanket
but you'll not get the miles out of em, and if it's motorways your doing the miles on, then they'll square off in no time,
a mate bought a set of continental sports touring tyres and loves em, plenty grip and last well

I quite like the idea of sticking to Bridgestone rubber though; as its a japanese bike, japanese rubber. (sorry, im really fussy about brands)
Whats the difference between the S20 and the BT023? I know the S20 is a sportier tyre, but will it give as good mileage as the BT023's?
I know the BT023's are quite grippy as Ron Haslam uses them on his race school bikes...

the main point with tyres is get something your comfortable with,
it's all about confidence, and if you have confidence in your rubber, it leaves more brain power for the road ahead

The S20 is a new tyre from Bridgestone and replaces the 016 Pro. The milage is a bit difficult to quantify, if you ride in a straight line at a constant speed there probably won't be that much in it. Ride in a constant corner hard and 20 will possibly wear a bit quicker, but you'll have to think that the 20 will have more grip as well.GeffreyB wrote:I quite like the idea of sticking to Bridgestone rubber though; as its a japanese bike, japanese rubber. The 23 is a long distance tyre for touring I'd say they are probably designed for heavier bikes and you'll get a long long time from them ... that's not always good though.
The chances are you won't notice a difference (unless you change them a lot and ride them very hard), of the two personally I'd take a punt on the 20's because they're a newer tyre and have more rubber on the road.

Cheers for the advice Evil
Think I'll give the S20's a shot, now to see if I can find a dealer to supply/fit them. Many thanks again!

I have a bt-020 on the back and its sh*t. Had an H rated basic pirelli diablo on the back before and that was much better, not as good in the wet but as for life span and dry grip the cheap diablo was better. Get that and you'll be laughing all the way to the pub with the £20 you just saved
