Part no. 15 is a steel spacing collar (NLA if IIRC)from memory circa 3-4 mm length.
7 is the "dust shield."
The spring washer has been added to the other end to compensate for the lack of the collar.!
These valves are fitted to many models,and differences also occured during different years.
Judging by how easy it appears to have come apart it may have substitute parts.
On the 2TK and the 1000 models a light spring is included where you have a spring washer;it just takes up sideplay and prevents rattles.

In order from left;
Bush.Collar.Valve.Bush.Dust shield. Gasket.Endplate.Thin washer.(spring or shimming may be required here)Pulley.Bolt&washer.

I was being daft, i just had another look at it all, the left side bush is still in the exhaust. that seems fine, the outer bush seems fine too its just the dust seal thats knackered and the lack of a shim/spring which seemed needed when it was together as the assembly had a bit of lateral play.


I will get the dust seal ordered and get it all back together then work out what's wrong with the servo.

I do not think you can replace the dust seal without taking the bush out first which will destroy it.
Have a good look at it.
The "dust seal" is not a conventional type seal just what Yamaha call it.It is only a tin spacer for packing out the bush.

Right i have to confess to these two balls ups!

The reason why the servo wasn't doing its cycle is? bloody kill switch was turned off, after all these years it still gets me!

Secondly the juddering noise isn't from the servo at all, closer inspection with the tank off is its coming from the fuel pump next to it! Doh!!

I will have to get a pump and fuel filter ordered too i guess.

Fuel filters are generic service items and dealer prices need not be paid.
The fuel pump should run for 10/15 seconds and then stop,it has a cut off if dry and wont run continiously.Cycle the ignition to fill the carbs if empty.It should only run till the carbs fill .

A service of the Exup is good anyhow,It is an ill wind that blows no good.
Is the pump securely fixed to prevent it rattling.?

Yeah i dont mind working through jobs like that in any case the exup wasn't set up right so that can be sorted now.

I'm just charging the camera battery up to take a video clip of the noise, it cant be right.

Has the pump got a fuel supply?
Are you switching power or kill switches.?

That just sounds like a dry pump and is cycling at approx. 8 seconds then off then retrying as designed.
An empty fuel pump is much noisier than normal and it does them no good;the fuel lubricates and cools.
