Have you had an opportunity to test the unrestricted TCI unit ?

Only arrived yesterday mate so not got round to fitting it yet, all I know is its a 4DX unit which has been doctored presumably to remove the rev limit and not the180kph limiter as obviously the 4DX doesn't have this function, really hope the fuel res and stand cut out still work. I don't know a great deal about engines but I know the bike had the mph clocks fitted in 95 when imported ( they show 20000) so hopefully engine should have had a relatively easy life as long as it had been serviced regularly. Their is a very quiet rattle when I start her up but that fades away after a few minutes, then sounds sweet in fact I'd say sounds fookin sexy;)
Went down to Demon Tweeks on Saturday and bought a pair of RST race tech boots so all my gear is sorted for Oulton Park, now need to find a couple of hours to prepare bike. I read on another forum that to do a track day at Oulton or any other MSV circuit your bike must be track prep'd (lockwire etc) anyone know if this is the case? The missus reckons No Limits said my road bike will be fine! Sure I wanted to ask something else but can't remember now. Right off to scoff some pancakes now!

Road bikes are fine for track days you only need lock wire for racing and I haven't heard of anybody asking for that.

The rattle could be the can chain tensioner ... get the gasket for it first then take it out clean it compress it and replace it. It could be it hasn't quite got to the next click to tension the chain or it could be stuck.

I have a 4dx and have 2 tci units neither of which restrict the rpm or speed so I don't think 4dx tci,s restrict rpm unless both of mine have been modded. Also always check the pics on flee bay I have see a few advertised as 3tj but when you look at the label they are 4dx ones.

It only rattles very slightly when first started up from cold and soon goes! Wouldn't mind checking it out in future but could do with getting my hands on a decent manual first, downloaded one for an SP 3TJ but very hard to see what's what really, need a 3TJ1 specific one preferably in book form.

Thanks for the link fella, it's now on my watch list, can't see there being too many differences to a3TJ but I do know there are some definitely worth a punt either way! Thanks

Thanks old evil one I'll have a gander at that. Been thinking About an R6 shock conversion using an adapter from Kayla (I think) Projection Components I think. I've seen dog bones that apparently do the same job but Kayla's adapters look totally different and obviously aren't dog bones or would I need both components?? Seen 06 shocks on evil bay for around £100 so should be looking around £150 to do the job.

You use the dog bones with the R6 shock on a 1WG. Use the shock and adapter on the 3TJ (remember to keep you're old one)
