These;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZR-60 ... 1c2d7d3604;?

Had these in stock and have used them in a shortened version for the 3EN2.
There is one of the earlier type up from Greece but it is the easy sourced side.A fellow member also spotted it,well done that man.
The rare one is 3EN-2835-V-00 (WHITE) @ £50.80 + 20%=JUST A TOUCH TOO MUCH,for a trim me thinks.

"I really like this bike, the updated parts look good"

Yes the uprated parts help the asthetics considerably.
Projection Components did the main work and I added some refinements.
I originally just bid on it to put the price somewhere near what it deserved as I had enough on without buying any more 400's but then looked a little more at the specs;saw how much had been modified and decided it would be foolish not to bid seriously on it.As it happened I got it for what I regard as the price of the front and rear ends plus an engine.
I try to refurb in a sympthetic manner keeping as much as possible of original and substitute slightly later model parts to improve brakes and suspension.
Really, the tank usually can make or break the look and I was very fortunate to pick up a mint 600 cover for less than £10 which then allowed the existing panels to be used as a base for the new scheme.
I just googled "black Fzr 600" and the first one I liked (std Factory colours) became the pattern.
This perhaps shows how an "elderly" example may be brought up to more modern standards,not a new superbike by any means ,but in truth; how many can use the capabilities of a £4/5 K new model anyhow.?
If I put it through the dyke ;the most it stands me is less than £650 so you can afford to be enthuisiastic, when the weather conditions permit.

Very nice deal Bill. I cant believe what you paid for that machine. Over here prices are starting to climb on the 400's as they are becoming quite rare if they are in good condition.
I thought i did well with mine @3400CDN but it also came with a pile of brand new spares- Including the front fairings (everything but the lower left) an extra VR, an extra air filter, 5 extra oil filters, Filter cover o rings, all shop/service/parts documentation including original microfiche. The bike had already had new chain and sprockets (OEM), wheel bearings, suspension bushings and bearings, fork seals all within the last 500km.
Looking forward to getting her back as close to stock as possible, which won't take much. I could use the lower left and the tank cover and a stock exhaust system.
Rear subframe is off for powder, and header is off for ceramic.
Now just waiting for my R6 shock to arrive. I made up my own dogbones out of 304 stainlessand set them at 135mm to slightly lift the rear. That whole conversion will only set me back about 112 CDN.
Then a patient wait for spring to arrive.

As for you local fabricator. That is awesome, i wish we had someone like that around here for that sort of thing.
Keep giving them your business when you can, we need more companies looking after us crazy motor heads.

The "local fabricator" is on here (Trx Girl aka Kayla aka Projection Components)
She started this topic off.
Dont let distance put you off;Kayla sends worldwide (usually for about £5) and would probably do interplanetery if the post office was up to speed !!!!!.
You did well with those parts in the deal.
The new plastics are worth as much as a used bike.
The price I quoted is including the mods I did (blue spots/hoses/hugger/shock/micron/span adjustable clutch & brake/ etc.
I try to keep a good stock of spare parts in the garage so when I start a project 3/4 of the bits are ready to fit from stock.I tend to pick up stuff cheap and refurb it,(cuts costs and gives me a pastime.)
Early stuff is pretty much worthless over here;
This did not even attract one bid and his reserve was only £376.

3HE 600,s are likewise circa £500=criminal really,for what they were at the time/are now.
