Re: Newbie FZR owner.
Progress, chain and sprockets off, rear wheel off for the new tyre to go on.
Look to be the original chain and sprockets too, weird gearing 19f 52r! Rear tyre might be the original too a very hard and square Metzeler.

Re: Newbie FZR owner.
RE vacuum pump conversion: My 3TJ is currently setup with a Mikuni vacuum pump, single outlet and so far seems to work well. I know a bunch of Hawk GT racers do the same conversion although they use the higher flow dual outlet Mikuni so I may swap up just for piece of mind... :D

Done some more work on the 3tj7 today. I'm just doing an oil change, what's approximate capacity for an oil and filter change.?

Re: Newbie FZR owner.
Bike fully serviced now, just need to charge the battery to hear it start for the first time in a few months.
Still have two jobs to do.
Change the front tyre.
Service forks and fork seals
Not looking forward to doing the forks so I might send them of to Maxton or Ktech to get them done properly.

They're fairly straight forward cartridge forks

Re: Newbie FZR owner.
Gutted!
Just started it, started first time but fuel was leaking out of one of the carbs. Now I've never had these carbs off but it was clear somebody liked hermatite sealer, as the bottoms were lagged in the stuff. Looking horrible and leaking no excuse not to take carbs off.
Well glad I did, as I've just witnessed the biggest bodge ever.
Somebody has overtightened the screws float bowl housing on nearly all four carbs. Then used screws, filler and hermatite to fill the cracks and holes!
Result! Knackered flatslide carbs.
Truly pissed off!
I'm hoping BDK have spares or can repair them!

You could try Allens Performance as well, they sell FCR parts.ibby4585 wrote:Gutted!
