I turned the ignition off and on twice in the video, yes it sounds the same with and without fuel supply.

At least fuel pumps are cheap !
I wonder if they do a diaphragm kit and have others tried replacement ?
I took a 600 unit apart,priced a contacts kit, then priced a used pump and threw my jiggered pump over the hedge to ensure I would NOT be tempted to spend more than it was worth on repairs.

This will only apply if the cables are fitted to the correct slots in the servo.

It is also often the case that P.O's refit the valve pulley 180 degrees out.
Also there are different offset pulleys for the valve which fit but are not possible to set correctly using the pin method and do not fully open the valve.This usually occurs with a s/h valve assy. fitted from another model.

Stripping and refurbing EXUP valves is very theraputic.

You were spot on, the previous owner had the cables from the servo the wrong way round.

What does Boris reckon on the fuel pump.?
I have been reading a post where the pump just needed forcibly priming and then ran ok.
Does yours actually pump petrol.
The timer for it is in the TCI not the pump itself.

Encourage it with a little tap

Could you have disconnected it by mistake ... maybe wait until your ready to start the bike again

It's definitely pumping fuel it's just damn noisy.

I will service the bike and get the tank on with fresh fuel and get the bike running and see if its a bit smoother and quieter.

Fuel in the pump will quieten it down and once the float bowls are full you'll find it will slow and stop.

Unplug it for now

Bit more done today, but general degreasing and cleaning the engine.

Struggling with removing the original front sprocket, bloody tight and not budging at the moment.

Anyone know the spark plug gap size? The plugs I've bought range from .6 to .7
