Parus seems to spend his life trawling the internet finding pictures of unobtainium....the only performance systems I have ever seen on this forum in many years of being here is the Beet system, graeme frances system and a HRC NC23 system.
They look no different as 90% of the system is hidden by the fairings...performance yes...some but the standard system is pretty good anyway really all you are doing is reducing weight.

You almost right mate, but all this stuff possible to buy on Japaneses auctions. I have bought HRC NC29 full exhaust system. But you have plenty of local manufacturers doing something for 400cc bike.Parus seems to spend his life trawling the internet finding pictures of unobtainium.

BEET Beat / Massert CBR400RR NC23 Exhaust System
I have a system that looks similar to this for my 29. It detaches into 3 sections, it has the bridged down pipes and is titanium.
Due to it having the bridged downpipes, does that mean it's likely to be a "Beet" system?

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
I have a full ally system for a 23. Looks like the Dic but seem to remember it being a Daishin. It's definately not the "banana".
People used to take the piss when I said it was ally as they had never seen that befoire. They were gobsmacked when I took it off. The WHOLE system weighs about 1 lb.
Did back to back dyno tests and the system did give a couple of BHP over standard which supprised the tester as he thought it was a Micky Mouse system. It's not.
I use standard down pipes and an RVF straight through Art race can which has the 3 bolts.
I also have a Dic slip on can which I have a feeling will improve again but haven't tested it
Standard NC23 and NC29 downpipes all have the 3 bolt connector. Some, that I have heard of have been cut to add different pipes.
Will put up some photos when I remember and can get to the bikes.
Crashed R6 and mint 88 NC23 (genuine 4000km from new) are in the way

held together with springs? two spring holders to hold a slip on in place?vr46 wrote: I have a system that looks similar to this for my 29. It detaches into 3 sections, it has the bridged down pipes and is titanium.

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
Hi Tanuki,
Mine looks similar as the one pictured, it does not have any spring hooks on it though. I'll buy some and get them fitted.
The metal colour is purpley / blue'ish in places.
I'll try and get some pitcures up sometime, it's sat in my hallway at the moment :)

Re: CBR400RR exhaust thread
Ok as its the exhaust thread I will add my new set-up thoughts, ok I don't know much about them and I'm not into race tuning like most of you. I do just use my bike for commuting and the odd day out, but it is my pride and joy. I will however give my findings in a non techie way.
First I had an OEM set of downpipes and a Simmi end can. This setup was brilliant and gave a three stage effect in the revs, best described as screamy upto 6000rpm then what can only be described as faster, faster, faster, then finally at 10000rpm max torque and catapult time..
Unfortunately rust set in so went for a new system.
Its a stainless 4-2-1 bought via ebay, first thing I noticed was the downpipes were of a larger diameter, fitting was straight forward, no major headaches although I felt the underside bracket was out just slightly, but a bit of pushing got it into place. The end can is a Beowulf stubby very nice, claimed to give extra BHP but would I notice? doubtful to be honest. Well this gives a different feel to the power, now it just seems two stages which as described above is screamy, then just faster, faster and err faster, very little or no torque bit at 10000rpm, which is a shame as I always loved that slight kick at those revs, although Vmax owners wouldnt call it much torque im sure. Strangely it seems just as fast, just no kick. Finally, there is an annoying stutter at a constant 2 1/2 thou revs which im told is that the needles in the carbs need raising slightly, ohh and I now have lost that very lush deep sound of the original setup (The very sound a MOT tester said was a beautiful sound and then promptly give me a caution for a loud exhaust) it now sounds like some Ford Escort raspy deep, damn.
