1. Do I need to buy a 'magic box' regardless of whether I remove the speedo?
No you won't need the box but you will need to keep the sensor part of the speedo attatched or the bike won't rev you can't just remove the whole of the speedo.

the de-limiter is a easy plug in th back of the clocks loom that by-passes the limiter and you can remove the clocks completely with no worries of not revving past 5,000 RPM.
