nc30 new lady owner needs help!

Hi all,

Should probably introduce myself in the new members section but I have some pressing issues I need to get to the bottom of with my newly acquired nc30! The bike is tidy enough however needs alot of work to get it up to scratch, finding the pinch bolts on the forks nearly falling out and nothing seems to have been torqued or tightened correctly I am going to strip most of the bike down.

Firstly I need help identifying my exhaust system. I have checked through the galleries searched etc but no joy. I believe part of the system is yamamoto but the end can/link pipe doesn't fit on the system properly. Ideally I am hoping to just be able to buy a correct sized link pipe and end can for the system but not sure on what to look for or what to buy!

Next problem is the front brake reservoir fouls the wing mirror bolt. I could just shorten the bolt a little but the clamp itself holding on the reservoir looks like a bit of a bodge possibly. Could someone tell me if this is standard:

I seem to have quite a few problems getting neutral. The bike has a new clutch cable have tried adjusting the cable but hasn't helped the problem much. Is this a common problem with the nc30 or could the clutch plates need replacing?

Finally for now...is there anywhere on the site/forums with links to the best places to buy parts from (new and used). Hi, i found there is a fine art to finding neutral on nc30's but once you get it right its a doddle. Blip the throttle to around 3.5 - 4000 rpm an giv the lever a nudge . Easy peasy

I have an nc35 and i have found i have to give the throttle a blip to find neutral. One of the best places i have found for parts is ebay to be honest, if your just looking for standard parts there are normally loads on there. But if you want an aftermarket exhaust i would recommend the tygra system.

Hi there, and welcome!

You might want to check the two small punchmarks on the gearchange input shaft and the gearchange clamp are aligned. They can be a pain to get into neutral as previously mentioned, but its not unknown for these punchmarks to be misaligned, which doesn't help!

Your isn't standard.

Try getting hold of a standard one, wouldn't be hard if you put a wanted ad in the for sale section.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Will check to see everything is as it should be on the gear change clamp etc then get practicing getting neutral with the tips given!

Stickshift thanks for the info, I am currently writing a list of bits needed so will put that on the list as well! then post in the for/sale wanted parts asap.

leanne, that pipe you have is deffo a stainless yamamoto 3/4 system (i have 2)
standard headers and the alloy one peice can. i bet yours has got a bit on the loud side now ? mine sure are
I have just (being collected tommorow) sent my spare alloy can to graeme france asking him to make a new link pipe and can for me which looks far nicer and is quieter. why not contact him and tell him to make it 2 ?
