Well finally got my engine back together and in the bike, starts first time on problem at all, and comes of choke ok.
The only problem iv got is with it revving, it doesnt rev as fast as it should (well the first time i ran it with cracked heads!)
The tank has fuel, opened the cap to check for air lock, no difference.
Iv checked the air screws are a 2 turns out, all four our.
It must be sparking as its running.
The only things iv changed are the carb rubbers (checked they are fitted and seated correctly)
Replaced the cylinders and installed new gaskets (iv checked the timing twice)
Reset the tappet's (doubled checked them just before the engine went back in)
Any ideas?

Re: Not running right
I know what you mean, but it revs just like it would when running out of petrol on the main tank.
It revs but struggles to rev fully, from idle you can get to full throttle and the revs have only got to about 6000 rpm?

Re: Not running right
Have you let it get upto temp?
A cold engine is likely to 'stutter' until its warm.

Re: Not running right
my bike wont rev fast for a gd 5 or 10 mins of riding then when its warmed up enough it will rev higher. let it idle for a while then give it a try.

Re: Not running right
Are you saying, at idle you hold the throttle fully open but it will only rev to about 6,000rpm? If so, first thing I'd be doing is to be making sure it's firing on all four cylinders. Sounds like three or maybe even two if 6,000 is the best you can manage.christ044 wrote:It revs but struggles to rev fully, from idle you can get to full throttle and the revs have only got to about 6000 rpm?

Re: Not running right
Thanks guys, i found the fault today.
When i striped and cleaned the carbs one of the valve seats (where the float sits in) hadnt seated fully and so didnt seal and was letting in fuel all the time.
Just taken it for a quick spin and it pulls great again, hopefully get it mot'd next week and get some riding done
