Hello,
I am goin to be rebuilding some nc30 forks with in the next week(if they turn up!) I have got new fork seals and dust seals with some haggon fork springs but my question is . . .
The haynes manual says to use 10w oil and to use 390mil of oil, what would happen if I was to put say 400mil fork oil in?
stupid question i know, but will using more fork oil make the forks harder to push down or easyer to push down?

If you change the volume of fork oil then you can affect the end of the fork travel.
If you add a touch more then you will make the air gap smaller and this will cause the spring affect of the air to be more pronounced. The end of the fork travel will have a rising rate.
It will not affect, at all, the ability of you to bounce up and down on the bike.
Don't be tempted to fill it too much - an extra 10 mil will be fine.

The reason I asked this question is 1) becuase my measuring jug does not have 390mil only has 400mil lol, and 2) I read some were today that some 1 that weighs I think it was 16 stone had certain fork springs, and was using 5w fork oil and only 345mil oil or something like that, and I was thinkjing as I only weigh 10stone would adding more fork oil be beneficial for a skinny runt like me, but i guessed wrong lol.

NO worries man.
Basically the spring is the main component- you need the right rate for your weight to start with. Then you need to ensure that you have the right weight oil and amount to control the travel of the fork through the stroke.
Too thin oil and you will not have enough control and will shoot through the travel and then rebound back out again. This is not good.
Too thick and the fork will feel sluggish. Won't give you enough weight transfer forwards when you brake. If you hit a sequence of bumps the slow rebound action might also cause the fork to pack down where it nevers extends before aother it and just ends up with no travel. Bad!
Once you have the right springs and oil then you can adjust the fork form this central point to behave as you prefer. Touch more oil will cause the rising rate which is good if you are heavy!
The ideal world would see a fork that was supple and the front wheel never left the road and was always in full control.

Thanks for your reply, so my next question qould be, how would I know what weight fork oil to use goin by certain weight? how do you figure this out? and also my fork springs have not got a weight on them I dont think, they are just haggon progressive fork springs I think, thanks again for your helpfull reply
