'04 cbr600rr gas shock absorber into nc24 conv

note that top shock pin fitting has a inner lip, either remove (possibly)

, or a little protyping modification with the handy small hacksaw and file on the top pin bearing of the shockabsorber itself.

also on the engine side of shockabsorber the bottom extruding spring tab, over engineered, must be removed and the spring seat ' slightly ' shamfered back.

thirdly the bottom pin mount of the shockabsorber can be re drilled upto 1cm, odd, to allow lowering.

forthly the shock link arm to frame was modified, as obove, by grinding a large oval in th bearing axle tube of it, to allow for clearance os shockabsorber spring seat. as bellow.

Hello friend!
I've just picked up an 88 rothmans edition nc24. I've been scouring the net trying to find rear shock conversion ,
and here it is.....with diagrams to boot!
Cheers!
Question; did the shock swap raise the seat at all?
Thanks again.

I didn't think it was cryptic.
Lots of other memebers on the forum have been asking how to put this shock into the NC24 when the information was here all along, obviously they don't know how to search.

Sorry to necropost this, but i dont know what part needs modification in this step. I have one of these shocks coming as i thought it would be much more repliable than putting another 23 year old shock on the bike

Take a closer look at the last picture you quoted, there has been a hole cut into the tube to stop the shock from hitting it.

Okay im stumpped, Got the shock today but run into fitting problemsNeosophist wrote:Take a closer look at the last picture you quoted, there has been a hole cut into the tube to stop the shock from hitting it.
Didnt have to modify the top bearing mount at all, it fitted in nicely (after removing all rear sub frame for access)
But the shock is too long and hits the exhaust and i cannot for the life of me get it into the bottom L shaped bracket for the link to the swing arm.
I want to see if i can get this in place before filing or doing anything to the shock incase i need to sell it on.
It was off a 2004 CBR600 RR, its identical looking to the one in the pictures so it should fit.
