When was the last time you changed the oil, and what type are you running? Synthetics tend to make the clutch slip more than conventional oils. Also, have you checked the adjuster at the clutch end of the cable?

Getting a manual is pretty much essential for sorting this out. It is not too difficult once you are into it but for the costs of plates, oil and filter..to tack on a fiver for a Haynes from ebay is not too much.

whats the mileage on the bike?
i have gone through two sets for friction plates in 6K miles, i am replaceing the steel plates this weekend.
in order to take off the clutch you need a special tool form Honda or Rick Oliver.
the tool itself costs 28 GBP
Steel plates (X9 of them) 36 GBP
Friction plates (x8 of them) 40 GBP
Gasket is 7 GBP
Clutch lock nut is 4 GB
All of those prices are from David Silvers Spares in the past week

you are not going to believe this.
so i came back to England for a small regional airport in the west of Ireland called knock airport. i was traveling with ryanair so was only carrying hand luggage.
i put all my luggage through the scan and my jacket. the operator stopped the X-ray machine and i thought it was just to look at my jacket as it has a heated liner now and wires hanging out of it!! if only it was.
took my bag aside and seached it only to find the clutch tool. he informed me it could be used as a weapon and was confiscating it!! and he did. so i no longer have the tool, some security bol ox in an airport has it/
