Hi everybody, trying to get the NC back on the road after a long lay off, anyway, just wondered if anybody had a set of carbs in bit and they could measure how for out the carb slide the needle pokes out? Mine seem to be about between 38 and 39, so trying to shim them to all the same height.
Hope everybody is keeping well.
Many thanks
Ian

I unfortunately can’t help but I’m sure someone will be along soon to help.
Glad you’ve still got the bike though 👍

If you have standard carbs and the correct needles in the correct places - then surely it's a case of reviewing the Honda service guide and ensuring that is all standard?

The common mods, as I am sure you know, are to add 0.5mm shims to the carbs and lift the needles. If you had eyes on the setup - it was standard and no shims I would be confident it would run well.

is that not possible?

Otherwise - reversecylinderjim had a set of scabby carbs from me a little while back - he's a good chap and surely will poke a ruler at them if he can

Alternatively give Rick Oliver a bell, he's always been free with advice on these bikes.

Check this one.

Ensure you have the right emuslsion tubes and the right needles - and either the washers, or not.

That should get you sorted out
