Do you have a link or something like that, I'm c@@p at this as well
I'm working on it.

Starting to put the bodywork back on. It's wearing the Tyga kit at the moment, or it would be except the new pipework for the replacement lower rad is not in quite the same place as the previous stuff. Consequently it took a long time to manoeuvre the one-piece belly pan into place and get all 6 bolts lined up and tightened. The one-piece tail section is always a pain because there's no rear seat to remove to allow you to see what you're doing, so connecting the indicators and rear light is a very fiddly job, done entirely by feel, with both hands jammed underneath the sharp-edged plastic. But I'd had enough by then so the rest can wait until tomorrow.

All sorted (the front, upper fairing section is a bugger and a half to refit) but there's a small problem. Headlights. Both work on main beam but only the left has a dipped beam. The Haynes isn't crystal clear on this. I'm assuming I need a replacement 60/35 W halogen bulb. Correct?

60/35w? Never seen one of those. JDM bikes usually have 35/35w as standard. If you go down the 55/60w UK spec, make sure you fit relays.

These are the ones David Silver spares have in stock at present. If you squint enough you can just miss the price.

Im still on the oe bulbs and haven’t changed mine to the 55/60w bulbs as of yet and from memory and this is some time ago as in the old forum years ago im sure the bulbs of 55/60w need altering as the spacing of the 3 legs is different to those of standard 60/35w bulbs. or as i remember someone doing and altering the headlight housing itself. But now i can’t remember if this was an nc29 or nc30.

Interesting replies. I expected a definitive answer. A quick bit of research reveals the standard Japan spec headlight bulb for the NC35, 30 and 29 to be 60/35W halogen. That's what both my NC35 and NC29 have, so they are probably the original bulbs. Andrew Pocock at GF Racing stocks 60/35W bulbs for these bikes. The ones on the David Silver site (as provided by cbr400rrn..thanks Karl) aren't specified but a close look at the pics shows them to be either 80/35W, which is unlikely, OR 60/35W. The '6' looks a bit like an '8'!
UK spec is 60/55W. Just like cbr400rrn, I seem to remember something about them not being a straight swop. Maybe I'm thinking of relays and things getting too hot without them. For an easy life I think I'll stick with the 60/35's.

David silvers are indeed 60/35w bulbs, It isn’t a straight swap, well if you cut one or two of the tabs off the 60/55w bulb it will fit. If you ride at night/in wintertime a lot it is probably worth modifying the bulb and putting a relay on the dipped beam side of the circuit.

Spoken to Andrew Pocock. 60/35's ordered.

60/35 fitted and working. I even managed to fit the new bulb without having to shift the fairing, which is a big bonus with the Tyga kit. Glorious weather here today but I can't take it out until it's MOT'd and taxed. My MOT man is away until next week, so it'll have to wait. Meanwhile either the NC29 or the Bonnie can take me to a local cafe for lunch.

MOT sorted. No issues. Haven't ridden the NC35 for around 6 months, what with it being away at the menders and so on. It's bloody freezing here and the roads are a bit mucky, neither of which are conducive to comfortable riding. Nevertheless, I was determined to get the bike nice and hot, so it was a couple of laps of the bypass and back through Alderley Edge. Just 25 miles in total but enough to lose all feeling in my face and get numb fingers. Once it had warmed up the bike felt lovely, although initially something felt different, which worried me, until I remembered the rebuilt forks. New oil and slightly stiffer springs from GF. Seems to work well with the Nitron shock. Looking forward to dry roads and above-freezing temps, so I can test out the handling properly.

If it warms up I may take the 'Blade for a spin
