Nc24 water leak issue
Hello all
Have a nc24 that I have had for 5 years and generally refurbished.
One issue now running fin but have a water leak. The water pump had a new seal but there is a leak overnight 2 drops or so not sure why.
I have a manual all in jap so don’t understand there is a small hole what’s that’s for?
Although no idea where it is coming from.
Have photos how do you share them?

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
Not sure about the hole, it's been many years since I owned an NC24. When you fitted the cover, did you clean the mating surfaces properly and ensure the gasket didn't get crimped? Have you applied equal torque to all the bolts?

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
would suggest the internal part of the pump is failing.. Not sure it can now be replaced..

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
The drain hole on the bottom side of the pump?
Think that is the case seal and needs proper surgery - would have to get a pic of it and see what's what

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
How do I post pictures?
I replaced both seals with new Honda ones.
Didn’t leak before refurb.
The pump was a bit furred up so gave it a good clean, the surfaces as far as I am concerned were excellent.

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
The drip in the second photo suggests that the gasket isn't quite sealing properly but it's not obvious which side of the gasket it's coming from. I'd remove the cover again and check its flatness, of the two the cover is more likely to distort due to uneven torque. Also check that the gasket isn't obviously damaged at all.

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
Update
Stripped redone one hose pipe was loose.
Rebuilt been great for a week.
Then water on floor this morning but seems 100% from the leakage inspection hole underside of the water pump.
What’s does that actually mean?
Thanks

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
my understanding* is that the hole leaking is a seal failure that is engine side.Shortstock wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:11 pmUpdate

Re: Nc24 water leak issue
I'd agree. Based on the source of the leak it sounds like the outer shaft seal has failed on the water pump. It may be a dodgy replacement seal or it hasn't been installed correctly.CMSMJ1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 10:08 pmmy understanding* is that the hole leaking is a seal failure that is engine side.Shortstock wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:11 pmUpdate
