Nc30 Reg/rec help
Hi all I’m after a Reg/rec for my 1994 nc30 I see a lot on e bay from £15 onwards all different looking mostly years given 1990-1992 mine has 5 contacts in plug so will any year fit my bike with same 5 pin plug or can someone help me with a link for right one for a 1994 nc30 thanks

Hi, any reg/rec will work, just check that the plug will fit, and that the bolt spacing is correct, and also the the size of the unit is the same as yours so it can dissipate the same heat.
I've had success with cheaper chinese ones. I fitted a copy R1 2008 one to my fireblade powered car, and it works fantastic.

Thanks for reply I see one on e bay £18 second had number on it is 30se1 94B it’s type with no fins should I buy a second hand one with no fins or get a cheap £18.50 one with fins lol

More important than fins is whether the base is metallic. A metallic base should provide a good thermal path to the chassis mount plate. A layer of thermal transfer compound between the rect/reg base and the chassis mount plate is also recommended and making the chassis mount plate as flat as possible is also helpful.
