Cam gear drive

Post by freeserve » Mon Jan 28, 2019 4:34 pm

Hello,

Which way round does the cam gear assembly go? On the bottom small gear which is split does the split section mesh with the gears below or does it face away from the gear, the manual suggests there are identification marks under the flange but I can not find it.

Many thanks.

Are you looking at Haynes or the Service Manual?

They have an F and R marking and the bolt that secures them faces the insides of the V

Just looked at the manual

"When the mark is not clear the gear case can be ID'd by the sub gear of the second gear. With the sub gear toward you;
for front cylinder> the sub gear is off to the left side from the main gear
for rear cylinder> the sub gear is off to the right side from the main gear."

go get the service manual :)
