Hi folks came over from bcf.com
Just confirm my suspicions. I need a 4into1link pipe for an vfr nc21 for the original exhaust. Do the other models nc24,nc30 fit?
If not does anyone know where I could find one as they seem to be rare as hens teeth?
Cheers

You can buy brand new stainless collector boxes for the 24, not sure if the 21 is the same.

21 and 24 are same fitment but one is hi level can and the other low.
They are rare as second hand and it is a total ballache to change - but has to be done if it is knackered
Welcome aboard :)

Cheers for the responses guys.
I was thinking this as there's pretty much none about, I'm doing the bike up for a mate and its been sitting outside for over a year.
I'll do some more researching and see what I can find.

Re: Vfr 400 nc21 exhaust question
4 into 1 linkpipe?
the nc21 / nc24 both have a 4-1 collectorbox underthe sump, which is part of the rear headers.. the front headers are removable,
the link-pipe is just a slightly bent pipe from teh collectorbox to the end can. its part of the end-can if the bike has a stock end-can on both the nc21 and nc24
collectorboxes do rot out

Re: Vfr 400 nc21 exhaust question
Ah I see. I didn't know the rear headers where attached to the collector . I'm doing this project for a friend and he's let the bike sit in the garden in the elements for over a year. When he showed me the collector box the rear headers weren't attached to the collector so I just assumed it was a 4 into 1 collector pipe.
the collector box looks pretty much like the pic below except there's no rear headers

I'm guessing the one I have is well beyond salvageable. I was thinking about sticking it in an electrolysis bath to get the rust off and see if it's weldable I was also doing some research on the site and I found that you need to remove the engine from the frame when refitting. Here was me thinking this was going to be a simple project

Re: Vfr 400 nc21 exhaust question
becuase the rear headers are attached to the collectorbox.
since its rotted to pieces, you can copy like the aftermekt ones and put the rear headers on slip joins, this will allow you to fit the rear headers seaprarly from the colelctor and negate removing the engien
