NC30 Ram Air Viperbiker

RAMAIR,

Well to be fair I don’t think it really is ram air, more a cold air induction kit but whatever.

I have bought a ramair kit, in fact I think it is actually the kit that Viper used all that time ago here –

viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1788

Anyway I’ve read what I can on the forum and have come up with this as a base setting –

AF 3 turns out
Mains 140 (though with a stock airbox and filter I am running 127 front and 130 rear already)
I run the RO short stacks, the settings I have read say I need to block the air hole, do I need to do this if I am running the RO stacks as these shroud the air hole circuit?
Fuel pump, live into the rear coil and neg/earth to the starter solenoid. Do I need a tilt switch, if so what sort am I after, a murcery one or a non mercury one?

Is there any massive improvement over the HRC open carbs, I ran these a year ago, but when dyno’d back to back with my current set up they both gave the same power. However I do believe that the open carbs need airflow to feel the effects of them as again they allow a lot of cold air into the space between the tank and carbs.

Any other thoughts?

PS this is on the race bike only obviously
