Can anyone please advise if the front sprocket should have movement side to side along the spline ?
Brand new and old are the same.

I've heard of people going to rather extreme lengths to stop it from moving, but it seems to me to have been designed to have some lateral movement.

Seems that movement is normal then, as I don't seem to have any pieces missing.
