Removing the top yoke

I'm considering stripping the paint off the top yoke and making it all nice and shiney. I have two keys on my bike key ring and the yoke is chipped because of this. I'm fed up with it looking crap!
So, is it just a case of undoing the two pinch bolts either side and removing it or is there more to it?

Yes. you have to remove the nut on the stem as well. Then it will come off. I use a piece of wood on the underside and tap it off with a hammer.
You will also need special star (yanks call them torx) bits to get the key cylinder off of the yoke as well.

Oh yeah I have torx bits as I've had the barrel off before (hence the two keys!)

Wont the shiney yoke reflect sun light onto your eyes?
I keep a separate bunch of keys from the bike, just so only the ignition key is on there!

I have two keys on my bike key ring - ignition and petrol cap. I had to change the ignition once after it failed but didn't get the whole she-bang so they're different.
