NC30 carb Air duct fitting

any body got any tips for refitting the air duct assembly onto the carbs,I have been trying for hours,it's doing my head in!!

Air duct???? You mean airbox? If so it just bolts on nowt special about it

No not the air box,it's what the base of the air box fastens to,the cast aluminium item that fixes to the top of the carbs by 8 Phillip headed screws.

ah that, needs to be done off the bike, i loosen the carbs to make it easier but it takes patience

Never thought of that!!but I did something I might regret later,I worked out all the rubber gaskets do is provide a airtight seal,I couldn't work out what the part of the gasket that was inside the casting did so I removed it with craft knife,the remaining part of the gasket has made a good seal so I am hoping all will be well.

lol yeah you might regret that, too loosen the carbs just undo the 2 large crossheaded screws either side
