hi,

im helpin a friend out with his NC30.

While doing the valve clearances we noticed that the front head has a cam gear marked 'R' , obviously for the rear and ive heard that the front and rear are different so i got a good second hand one marked 'F'.
We installed it, did valve clearances etc.

Now whats worrying us is the engine is now making a whining noise constantly and while riding there is also an odd mechanical sound above 6k rpm. It sounds similar to a surveillance camera when its remotely rotating if u know what i mean.

Pls can anybody give some advice or info on what could be the problem.

i never rode the bike before but now it pulls strong in 1st and 2nd then from 3rd it doesnt feel like u gaining any more speed nor does it climb much on the speedo.

pls help

If the new cam is missing the wee spring loaded ring gear that could explain the whining; some people remove them as it reduces friction between the cogs.

Camshaft should be marked FR IN, FR EX, RR IN and RR EX. Complete camshaft assembles each have different part numbers, although common assembly parts have same numbers.
